The 5 Crucial Stages In The Project Management Process!

Project management is a big term. This is not something that could be taken lightly. Project management is essential for all organizations, irrespective of the size and the number of employees. No company is complete without its employees and the projects that it handles. Talking about project management, the project managers have smartly moved on to handling things with the help of project management tools.

Well, using tools is not going to be helpful, unless a person understands the crucial stages in the project process. These stages are important because, without them, it is impossible to successfully, effectively and efficiently complete the projects.  The 5 stages discussed in brief are:

•  Initiation: This is the first basic step. If this is not done right, no other step will go along. It is important, as a project manager, for you to know and understand that initiating a great idea on any project will only lead you on the right path. The idea that you initiate, should be very thought after and must make you stand apart from the rest. This is where you literally kick start the project.

•  Planning: It is all about how you plan. Planning is crucial because everything next that’s going to happen depends on your plan. The plan that you would make for your project, must not be rigid. It should be flexible so that as and when the need arises, the plan can be edited/modified.

•  Execution: The next thing after planning, is executing the plan. You must divide your project into smaller tasks and assign them to your team members as per their capabilities and their interests. This must be done so that everyone gets a chance to be a part of the project, and the burden of the work could be equally divided among all.

•  Managing and monitoring: Just implementing the plan is not enough. Being a project manager, you must be able to monitor the tasks being done by the team members. You must track the progress of the report so that if anything is falling in place, it could be amended right there.

•  Closing: This is where you collaborate all the tasks, make reports, do the final checking, fix all the errors and the loopholes and assemble everything to make a final project.

Only through the above steps, can a project be effectively and efficiently completed.
